Friday 21 July 2023: Back to normal for a bit

After the madness that was the previous few days, I took it easy yesterday. I didn’t rush around like a mad thing. I didn’t dash back to what I was doing before it all went a bit wild. I just took it easy.

And it was a bit wild, for me. Having to watch videos and commit stuff to my subconscious. And then writing longer stories than I’m used to in shorter lead times than I’ve had to do in a while.

So here’s a nice relaxing picture of a beach.

It took me the best part of the day to write up yesterday’s blog post, once my course was finished. But it was a long one. The blog post, not the course. Over 2,500 words, I think. That’s a blummin’ long blog.

And then I just puttered about for a bit, completely forgetting that I still had DEADLINES, I still had work to do and send back, I still had words to write. Proper words, not blog words. Blog words don’t count towards my daily wordcount.

The poet came home from work and went out again, and I still didn’t do any work. Then I remembered I had proofreading. But I toyed between writing my 200 words a day and having a day off from writing.

So I pulled out the big proofreading job I still have and got on with that for a couple of hours, clearing 31 pages. Then I turned to Catch the Rainbow and added 409 words, glad that I forced through the don’t wannas and wrote something. Current tally = 26,105 words.

Have a great weekend!

    1. I did take the weekend off in the end. From everything. And this week I have a ton of proofreading.
