New regime

Image by Karolina Grabowska from Pixabay After all of my planning work last week, the new regime starts today. Before I started any of it, however, I had some admin to look after. First of all, the poet’s COVID jabs letter came through and he booked both of his appointments. Both of those went into my diary. Then I had a new appointment come through from the hospital. I thought the next time I was there it would be for the […]

Crowded lakeside

Image by Robert Balog from Pixabay On Saturday we popped to one of our local parks to partake in our daily (dog) exercise. It’s a newish park that has a lovely walk around a massive lake. We knew it would be busy, but we didn’t think there would be a load of idiots there too. When we arrived, it was a job in itself to get from the car to the path, as it was very icy. And when we […]

Welcome, 2021

Happy New Year to everyone! Let’s hope we kick this virus in 2021, so that life can return to normal. I had a lovely long Christmas holiday, almost three whole weeks in the end. HOT!

That’s the weather. We’re here in the middle of a heatwave, which is suiting a lot of people. It doesn’t suit me, but I don’t mind it. We have all of the windows open and two fans on the go. The washing is baking on the line. The milk had to come in off the step before it fried. It’s too hot to work outside. But I don’t mind. I’m a snow baby, and I love the rain. And I’m […]

LOCKDOWN

Our prime minister’s full formal lockdown instruction didn’t come until Monday 23 March. However, we suspected it was on the way and so we did our regular shopping early, ensuring we had sufficient – or so we thought – stock cupboard items and anything else we might need to keep us occupied for however long it takes. I work from home anyway, but the poet was still working as usual right up until Friday 20 March, although unnecessary travel for […]
