While the poet did fit in 30 minutes to cut the front lawns on Saturday, we didn’t get into the garden again at the weekend beyond that. There wasn’t anything to do, other than cut the hedges. No, this isn’t one of our cornflowers, but I hope we have some of these soon. Nothing to report from the portable garden this week, other than that the cornflower and calendula seeds in the pot at the front have sprouted. The sunflower seedlings at the back are all doing well, and so are the rescued strawberries. We had a weekend away from the house, it’s done nothing but rain since, and we don’t have under-cover gardening at this house. […]
