Well, hello to October, and hello to new graphics. Yes, I finally got around to making my own graphics for the hello and wrap-up posts. Go, me!
I’m still feeling a bit overwhelmed with work, mainly because the editing is starting to pile up, but also because the great novella challenge is such a huge commitment. I am enjoying it, though. And I’m delighted I’ve managed to complete 11 books to date. However, if I stand on tip-toe, I can see the end of the challenge from here!
Saying that, I’m really looking forward to getting back into the short story production. I keep seeing friends having their stories published in anthologies and I’m wishing I’d been able to send something off too. And there are some lovely anthologies that will look splendid on my bookshelf.
October has been full for a few weeks, so I didn’t have to do much planning on the last day of September. In fact, the diary’s full until Monday 19 January! I did have to move a few things around so that I knew when I was publishing material. But, generally, all the leg work was already done.
Hello, October!
Here, then, is the plan for October:
- create graphic for Hello October
- create graphic for October wrap-up
- revive newsletter
- (week) daily blog post
- (week) daily housework half-hour
- (week) daily garden half-hour
- client edit x3
- pre–write Book 12 for the Great Novella Challenge
- write Story 10 for 12 STORIES IN 12 MONTHS
- share Diane’s gig list every Thursday
- weekly diary work
- weekly backup
- weekly finance work
- weekly publishing work
- trip to the NEC to see Grand Designs
- hair appointment
- write Book 12 for the Great Novella Challenge
- hospital appointment (minor surgery)
- monthly schedule planning for November
- advance finances for November
- update 36-project spreadsheet (week) daily
- publish book x3
How’s your October looking right now?

I’m sorry to hear you have more surgery this month.
Anthologies are such fun, especially when the editor is good.
Love the graphic.
Thank you – it’s dermatology. At least they’re trying to get to the bottom of it.
