Tuesday 2 June 2026: Hello, June!

We thought we may be moving house in May, but we didn’t. So now we need to move house by the end of June instead. I have booked work in apart from the 2 weeks either side of the date we already know we have to be out of our current house. If it looks like it won’t be then, then we’ll have to negotiate another extension. Originally I’d planned to have the whole of June off, but I can’t keep doing that and keeping my fingers crossed. A week on either side it will have to be.

That means, and subject to change, here’s how June is looking at the moment:

Hello, June!
  • create graphic for Hello, June
  • create graphic for June wrap-up
  • make new covers for the next 12 book republications (moved from May)
  • republish 9 short stories (moved from May)

  • WMG Workshop: Make a Living Writing Novels (live 6-week workshop)
  • 2x WMG Workshop assignments
  • 2x client proofreading jobs
  • daily dog walk
  • daily exercises
  • daily household chores
  • daily reading hour
  • daily blog post
  • weekly backup
  • weekly finance work
  • monthly schedule planning for July
  • advance finances for July
  • update word-count tracker spreadsheet (week) daily

How is your June looking?

    1. We were sent the documentation a couple of weeks ago to read and sign in front of a witness, but I had queries, which I fired off to the solicitor. He didn’t respond. So Ian took the signed and witnessed paperwork back today and asked them for a completion date, to which the solicitor responded (over the phone via the receptionist) that he was waiting for the signed paperwork. It’s as though he expected us to sign the legally binding paperwork while we still had questions! Unacceptable. Honestly, solicitors these days…

        1. Gosh, yes! Ian’s already looking into a cabinet making for beginners course. He loves projects like that, things he can create – a bit like us with our writing and our sewing/knitting/etc and him with his art and music.
