Monday 2 March 2026: February wrap-up!

This is how busy I was last week. I didn’t even schedule the wrap-up post for today and I’m having to do it right now.

February in all was a very busy month. 

For the first half of the month I still had hospital visits 3 times a week. That took such a huge chunk out of my working week, much more destructive than I thought it would be. 

Then at the end of the month, we had to get the spaniel ready to go back to his former human and get the puppy ready so he wouldn’t miss him.

In between, we were also house-hunting and then doing all the necessary admin and financial work for a house we wanted to put an offer on. That took a LOT more time than I thought it would.

We’ve moved house plenty of times over the past 13 years, on average every 2 years. So we’re no strangers to that. But this is the first time we’ve been looking to buy a house. I did that quite a few times while I lived in the midlands, and I did it once after initially moving to Yorkshire. 

The poet did it twice. But for the past 13 years, we’ve tried to maintain some flexibility so the poet wasn’t tied to one place when changing jobs. I can work anywhere there’s a power supply and an internet connection.

So, against that backdrop, I had very little time in which to do any actual work. And here’s how I did.

I wrote 18,981 words in February, and I edited or proof-read 137 pages.
