I had a much better night on Tuesday. The puppy let me sleep until 5am! Yay!
When I got up a bit later and opened the living room curtains, the roofer was already here! Yay!
And so was the rain. Boo!
The roof man installed the guttering he’d put the brackets up for the day before, and then he went, saying he’d call me to let me know when he’s coming again. We have a deluge of rain forecast for the next few days, and it started yesterday at about 11am.
While the roofer was here, I had my quiet and dirty cuppa with the dogs, got dressed, and had some play time in the garden with them. It was already starting to rain, though, so the spaniel didn’t stay out for long, and the puppy came straight in to a whistle. Yay!
The poet had a later start and after the roof man went, so did he. He’d done some work on his laptop on his lap while the roofer was here. Then he packed up and off he went.
I’d put some tumble drying through first thing, and after he went I was able to fold that and put it away.
At my desk, yesterday’s blog post was first on the list. So I did that and shared it everywhere, and I checked my Medium earnings, not expecting to see anything. And I’d earned 4 cents! Yay!
Obviously I won’t get very rich very quick on that, and I also expect it to quieten down again. But that was a nice little surprise.
I received an email with a remittance advice attached for the last client job I invoiced. That should be in my bank tomorrow. Yay!
So, a good start to the day. And by now, it was time for my midday brunch.
I had another bit of a play in the garden with the dogs, in the rain. Then I regurgitated an article on Patreon for Medium, tidied it up, topped and tailed it, and submitted it for publication.
There’s a new chief editor for this particular publication, so it might be as good a time as any to start again with them. They used to publish most of my articles on there. I hope they’ll continue to do so.
Then I fired up Week 4 of the applied depth workshop for revision. Once that was out of the way I had to get ready to go out. I was taking myself to my hospital appointment and I needed to give myself a good hour in case the car park was chock-a-block, which it usually is apart from at 9 o’clock at night.
I was lucky. I got there in good time and found a space on only the first drive round the car park.
I was longer in the appointment, though, as there was a nurse I’d not seen before and I’d missed Monday’s appointment due to them cocking up the appointments. They have to make a note if a session is missed.
I’d also left my goggles in the poet’s car and she had to find me a new pair. Those have gone in my car now so there’s a pair in each. I don’t leave them in a coat pocket as the coat is likely to change with the weather.
By the time I headed home it was starting to get dark, and it was dark when I reached home. I’m not supposed to drive in the dark if I can help it, unless it’s very brightly lit or I’m familiar with the roads. I’m familiar with the roads, but usually as a passenger these days. It was good to exercise my driving muscle.
I have a whole day in the office today, and no roof man due. I should get a lot of work done, but I also have a lot of legal stuff to do too. Perhaps I’ll just see how it goes.

Well done! And I hope today goes well for you, too.
