Day 1 of this year’s NaNoWriMo was actually yesterday, and today is Day 2. However, I’m a day behind on the blog posts as they’re usually a round-up of the day before (or days before if other posts have sneaked in).
The story I’m working on for this year’s NaNo is The Fool: a Stevie Becks mystery. This is a series of novella-length stories.
I was supposed to be doing proper prep work last week, but I was so busy I only manged to update my Scrivener binder and quickly read through the storyline. So I really am starting from scratch.
By the end of the first session, I had written 2,555 words (2,555 total).
2,555/50,000 words. 5% done!
Other jobs I did yesterday were:
- insure the car ✔️
- draft a really long letter to a client about how I’m not sure we’re a good match ✔️
- cancel my Medium membership ✔️
- find Scrivener’s secret new template so I can update my NaNo word-count from inside the project (it was there last week, but we may have broken it in our rush to try it out) ✔️
Today I need to do more, but the letter and the Scrivener detective work took out huge chunks of the day.
