So I didn’t do a great deal yesterday other than editing. Editing, editing, editing. All day. I did do some housework, and I did feed and water the garden birds. I also shared the gig list. But the rest of the day was editing. Or transferring edits to screen.
I spent the entire day on this client work and I did finish it before tea time, which was great. I left it to cool overnight, though. Then today I made sure the tracked changes file had all the tracked changes showing, and that the clean file had all the tracked changes accepted. I also made sure that both files still had my comments and queries.
The poet put a beef stew on the hob and made some dumplings ahead of time. We use vegetable suet for our dumplings so we can have them in a mixed bean casserole on meat-free Monday too. Then we nipped out to do our weekly shopping, on Thursday evening instead of leaving it until Saturday, so we can have the whole weekend with the dog and we don’t have to leave him on his own.
When we got back, the poet added the dumplings to the stew and then we put away the shopping while those cooked. The stew was delicious, and we had cherry pie with ice cream for pudding.
This morning, I put some washing through and hung some washing up and I fed and watered the birds. Then once I was happy with the editing job, I sent that back to the author, both files, and I invoiced the client. The poet made 2 tin loaves, and we popped out during the poet’s lunch break to get meat and bird food for the week, as those shops weren’t open when we went out the evening before.
When we got back there were internet guys crawling all over the house, checking to see where their cables could come into the property. I think they were relieved to see us. We showed them where the telegraph pole was and one of them came into the house to see where the best place was for the hub when they come to fit that next week.
I posted a Fiction Friday story on Patreon and was about to schedule it for on here too when I remembered I hadn’t done today’s blog post. So, here it is.
Monday’s post will be a book review next week, but I also have to publish Fireworks At Killiecrankie so that it’s ready to come out later in the month.
I still have a few more jobs to do today, but in the meantime, have a great weekend!
