Tuesday 1 July 2025: Hello July!

I’ve been doing a lot of work on the schedule, but the list of things to do never seems to get any shorter. And so I just keep on plodding on and hope I actually produce something tangible.

I won’t be attending any workshops in July, other than dipping into the Christmas novella workshop, to give me chance to do some catchup.

The assignments are great and prompt me to come up with some stories that are a bit different. But I have to stop rushing things right up to the deadline day. I should be able to fit everything into the working week.

So that’s what I’m going to try and do. I didn’t give up the rat race to be working 7 10-hour days a week…

Hello, July!

Here, then, is the plan:

  • create graphic for Hello July
  • create graphic for July wrap-up
  • trip to Stratford upon Avon
  • old work reunion
  • watch a play in Stratford
  • hospital appointment
  • (week) daily blog post
  • client edit x 2
  • prewrite Book 9 for the Great Novella Challenge
  • Christmas cosy mystery novella workshop
  • bookazine, July issue
  • write Story 7 for 12 STORIES IN 12 MONTHS
  • start PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR WRITERS: GATE 3
  • 2 dental appointments
  • write THE ACE OF PENTACLES
  • Monkey Dust admin
  • share Diane’s gig list every Thursday
  • weekly diary work
  • weekly backup
  • Monkey Dust gig
  • write Book 9 for the Great Novella Challenge
  • monthly schedule planning for August
  • advance finances for August
  • update 36-project spreadsheet (week) daily

How is your July looking at the moment?

  1. It’s still a long list, but fewer workshops will help get things back in balance. Much as I love workshops, I find they tilt my day out of whack at times. I can’t just immediately switch to another task when it’s done. I have to sit and think about it for a bit, especially if it’s good.

Enjoy Stratford. I can’t wait to hear about it and see the photos!

    1. I quite like a workshop, as they ease me into the day. It’s the assignments, I think, that take up the extra time and energy for me.

      We’re looking forward to Stratford.
