Wednesday morning is one of my 3 weekly light therapy sessions at the hospital. It takes up the best part of the entire morning because I have to get ready, we have to get there, I have to walk the entire length of the hospital while the poet tries to find a parking space, walk back, and then calm the dogs down when we get back. The poet does the pet play in the garden as I can’t go outside after a session.
Yesterday went as usual, other than the poet having to make 4 circuits of the car park before finding a space. This is why he takes me. By the time he found that space, I was on my way back along the entire length of the hospital. If I drive myself, I risk missing my appointment. And while they have no qualms about keeping us waiting for hours, literally, if we’re even 10 minutes late they’ll cancel the appointment.
The amusing thing is that on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, usually about 15 minutes after my appointment time, I get a text message from the hospital reminding me I have an appointment. If I waited for that reminder, they just wouldn’t let me in. End of.
Anyway, 5 sessions down, 19 to go. I don’t think I have a sun tan yet, but the poet says I do. I’m just one slightly darker white mass without any white bits to compare, as we have to take everything off. Even jewellery. Especially jewellery. And I have to tie my hair up.
Back in the day when I used to sunbathe, and we’re talking 40 years ago now, I’d go an incredibly sore bright red, peel, and then only be dark white. At least this way I’m skipping the sore, red and peeling part and going straight to the dark white.
The dogs were delighted to see us, and he took them into the garden to play while I made us a hot drink, hot lemon for him as we think he’s coming down with something. Better now than in time for Christmas, eh?
Once at my desk, the plan was to finish the bookazine and then get on with the client edit. But those WordPress gremlins had other ideas. I’d received an official response to my ticket overnight and the techie asked me a raft of questions I needed to answer. Others have reported this same bug, but their posts have been deleted as duplicated. Mine was added to the original ticket, rather than completely deleted, and then I was asked all these questions.
They want me to have a look at my configuration, but I have no idea where that is on WordPress, so I have some studying to do. I did what I could, answered what questions I could, thanked the techie for the response, and the welcome as it was my first ticket (I’ve used the forum before, but not reported a bug in this way), and turned back to my work.
The next job I wanted to quickly rattle off was yesterday’s blog post. I’d pretty much finished it by the end of Tuesday, but I hadn’t chosen the image or scheduled the post to publish. So I did that. And then it was back to Wednesday’s work.
I finished another short story for the bookazine, as well as the credits page, the catch up… page and the coming next time page. And then I carried on with the client edit, finishing at around 7:20pm.
