I think we’ll start with some good news today. Well, good news for me at least.
We got back from Stratford a week ago on Saturday. Between then and yesterday, I managed to lose 4½lb. That’s a lot in just over a week, but while I won’t expect to lose that amount every week, I’ll still take it, thank you very much. Another 2½lb and I’ll have lost half a stone. Another 3½lb and I’ll be where I was before I had my operation.
It goes downhill a bit from here, folks, workwise, but bear with me.
I had an excellent start to the week yesterday. The day began with me arranging the week’s tasks and transferring them to my diary. It all looked great and very doable. But it took most of the morning, as I had to move things along to later in the month as well and fit everything in around everything else. (More on this further down…)
The next job was yesterday’s blog post, which I had to write from scratch and, therefore, memory.
And then 3 things collided at once. This isn’t bad news, by the way. It’s just why yesterday then promptly went down the pan as far as work is concerned.
I was about to start work on Novella 9 for the great novella challenge when we got a phone call and had to run a last minute errand instead. I’ll go into more detail when we know more. I don’t want to jinx things. It just doesn’t bode well for my very structured work schedule.
Which brings me back to moving things along in the diary to fit in around everything else…Today, I need to look at the diary again and lump things in together, so I’m working on one big job at a time and maybe a small one in between.
Instead of doing a couple of hours on Novella 9 plus a couple of hours editing plus a couple of hours writing a short story plus a couple of hours of admin work, I’m moving the paid work up front and central so I’m working on just one editing job until it’s done and only then having a week or so on a novella, and so on. That would also mean fitting in the unexpected would be easier too.
This will ensure that not only is the paid work out of the way sooner, but the money is in the account sooner too.
So this is what I’ll be working on first today, and then I go into a week of client editing. It means the blog will be a bit boring, with only one job going on every day. But I’ll try to sprinkle in a bit of interest too.
Today’s post was originally a lot longer, but I’ve removed all the not-yet-revealed stuff and put it somewhere safe. Sorry to be so vague, but as I say, I don’t want to jinx things. And it may not even happen yet. But if it does, it will be exciting…
It’s St Swithun’s Day today, and I’ll be doing a rain dance. I hope it rains. I hope it rains where you are too, if you need it.

Sounds like an excellent plan. We’re in 3 retrogrades right now, with Mercury looming as of the 18th, so block off extra time for pretty much everything, because there will be obstacles!
I can hardly wait for Mercury to go retrograde too. I’ll try and get all my ducks in a row before that happens.
