Chapter 29: Tuesday 2 August

August already, and already it’s a day old. I can hardly believe it.

Friday
I skipped a post on Friday because I was just so busy and focused all day on one thing: Editing. I did clear a massive load, though, and ended the day only about 130 pages from the end. (It’s a very big book.)

I shot an email off to the author, offering to break it down into chapters done so far and send those to him a file at a time, or I said he could hang in there until the end of this week, when I might – might – have the whole thing ready for him. Then I closed down the office for the weekend.

The weekend
On Saturday we did the shopping. We didn’t have a lot of time, though, as the poet had a gig over in Bradford, which is an hour and ten minutes away on a good day. So we did what we could before we had to get ready and make our way over there. It was a great gig, though. Lots of fun with a good crowd.

On Sunday we did the visiting, and when we got back, I opened the office again just so I could do another chapter of the editing, which I did. The email came back from the author as well, saying he’d wait until this Friday for me to send him the whole book.

Monday
On Monday, a new Wordsworth Flash Fiction was published.

Tea for Two is another very short story I wrote a long time ago, and the first version was well over 2,000 words. I kept on chipping away at it until I was finally satisfied.

I really like this story, so I ended up publishing it myself. Now it’s been been published in Twee Tales Twee, Twee Tales More and Flash Fiction 2.

You can find all of my books on the BUY MY BOOKS tab on the blog, or you can go to www.books2read.com/DianeWordsworth.

Monday morning is usually about admin: for the publishing challenge, for the gig list, and for Monkey Dust if they have a gig coming up. This coming weekend, they have a wedding on Saturday, so I got ahead for the week after and created the poster and the event for their gig in Doncaster. Then I shared everything everywhere I could.

In the afternoon I dedicated 2 whole Pomodoro’s to the editing again. Remember, my Pomodoros are 50 minutes each not 25 minutes. I run 2 together and then have a 10-minute break. So that’s the best part of 2 hours spent on the editing, and I managed about 10 pages – that’s how long it takes to edit 10 of these pages: 100 minutes.

And then it was back to the ghostwriting.
